Every two years, Young Life hosts a Catholic Summit to bring together Protestants and Catholics who love Jesus, who love kids, and who want to learn how to go out together to share the Gospel with young people. Young Life and Franciscan University signed an academic agreement two years ago, and the Young Life Catholic Summit this fall will gather Franciscan students, Young Life staff and volunteers, and Catholic youth ministry leaders.


Thursday night, Oct. 23: 

Check in: 5 - 7:30 pm EST
Opening session begins at 8 pm EST


Friday, Oct. 24:                        

Main sessions: 9:30 am - 9 pm EST


Saturday morning, Oct. 25:   

Closing session ends at noon EST


Registration cost: $199 
You are responsible for booking your flights (if needed) and your lodging.


Transportation: The summit will take place on the campus of Franciscan University; all gatherings will be within walking distance. If you will be flying in for the summit, we suggest you book flights in and out of Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT). Franciscan University will provide free shuttles from the airport to Franciscan/hotels (a 30-minute drive). We suggest your flight arrives in Pittsburgh no later than 6 pm EST on Oct. 23 and that your flight out of Pittsburgh departs no earlier than 2 pm EST on Oct. 25. After you register (button below), you’ll receive an email to register for the shuttle.


Meals: Meals during the summit will be provided at no cost to summit participants. 


Lodging: Options and links to reserve lodging will be emailed to you after registering. We are in the process of blocking hotel rooms at a discounted rate.

Speakers

Tanita Maddox

Dr. Tanita Maddox serves as Young Life's national director for generational impact and as associate regional director for Young Life's Mountain West Region. She holds a Masters in Christian Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary and a Doctorate of Ministry from Phoenix Seminary. She is a popular speaker, and her recent book is called, "What Gen Z Really Wants to Know About God: Seven Questions About Life and Faith."


Dcn./Dr. Bob Rice

Dr. Bob Rice is a Professor of Catechetics at Franciscan University of Steubenville and director of the master's program in Catechetics and Evangelization. He participated in Young Life as a teenager and once served on Young Life staff. Dr. Rice is also a deacon for the Diocese of Steubenville and a popular speaker and author. His recent book is called "Sharing the Gospel with Our Lives: A Relational Approach to Catholic Youth Ministry."


Dr. Chap Clark

Dr. Chap Clark is the executive director of the Institute for Ministry Leadership and a former professor of youth, family and culture at Fuller Theological Seminary. He is a popular speaker and has authored two dozen books, including “Hurt 2.0: Inside the World of Today’s Teenagers." His teaching offers a rare interdisciplinary perspective on societal trends and the impact of emerging generations and the church.
